Appendix # 1 - a selection from the BIG camera

Back home again...still unpacking and still red dust everywhere...thought I'd review my camera pics and upload a few.

THE TRIP  NORTH.

MUNGO NATIONAL PARK
Walls of China

Walls of China with bird

Walls of China with a Dalek shaped peak and older red sand in the front.

That's the Dalek (for Dr Who Fans)

Where the water has run, great patterns and textures in the sand and clay.

Dundek's on the boardwalk

More of the Walls of China.

MUTAWINJI NATIONAL PARK

A great morning walk at Mutawinji to the Rockholes Lookout.

The creek that had obviously had rain.

The wind must get up around here.

I wonder how long this tree has battled the elements to get this far.

A rock pool along the creek.

A colourful moth. Wings flattened to body, like a jet plane. Butterflies, fold their wings up.

Milani sizing up a hole in the rock.

Phil near the top of lookout

Another weathered tree.

The top of the peak. Also wind sculptured I think

Looking back along the creek.

FLOWERS

Nor sure what it's called. This was on the Mutawinji link track, along the creek edge

A carpet of white flowers, north of Thargomindah.

Some Ptilotus or Nulla Nulla north of Thargomindah.

Some flowers near the Diamantina River just south of Birdsville.

Some low succulent flowers, at our campsite on Birdsville common. The pink was quite deep.

Red succulent 'branches'

A fine yellow flower.

Some sort of daisy.

Beautiful purple grass, throwing a shadow in the drying clay soil.

This is the succulent, white and pink flower above and the purple grass.
CAMPSITES
Still in NSW, about 30kms south of Hungerford and QLD border.

Sitting around the campfire.

This was on the way into Birdaville

A bird flying along the Diamantina River

Diamantina at Sunset.

A Black kite? flying above us at the Diamantina River near Birdsville

Sunset, moonrise and an old windmill at golden hour...what good timing.

A favourite with the birds.

A little hawk maybe

A little closer

Looking back past a tent to Birdsville in the sunset

Our loo tent at camp. Sunset colours and the moon and the windmill in the distance.

next day, burying the ashes/coals from the firepit.
